| NDT Quality System With the introduction of ISO and AS9100 requirements, now commonly required for doing aerospace work as a supplier, the quality system of a company must be an integral part of the NDT system. It is a must for all employees to understand the quality system and to be familiar with the requirements of governing specifications, procedures and other work instructions. Because quality system requirements are so important to the NDT area we have dedicated this quality system section in the "Tech Room" pages to familiarize you with some of the quality system requirements as they relate to the NDT process. In our Audit Central section (members only), you will find additional aids to assist you in understanding requirements and to better prepare you for audits, especially Nadcap, your company will go through in the future. This section will continue to evolve over time to hopefully be a valuable resource for you and your company. On the left side of this page you will find reference pages to address other key areas of the quality system. Again, members of this site are encouraged to participate in the development of this site by providing input. If you have items or links to submit for this page, let us know. We will review it for applicability to the site. It is vital to know and remember that Personnel, Equipment, Records, Procedures, and "Technique Sheets" all require continual assessment to assure compliance to external and internal governing requirements. Additionally, these assessments should be scheduled as required throughout the year. I recall one of the first things I was told that was key in a quality system and in preparation for an audit. The one thing that was drilled into my head to remember was, "What are you doing, and what tells you to do it?". |
